State-of-the-art multimedia videoconferencing space launched

network and communications services multimedia videoconferencing room

McGill’s newest facilities, now found in the NCS Multimedia Videoconference Room, include videoconference calls that are available to the campus community and free of charge to those who use the service in relation to McGill course work.

New data for Essential Science Indicators (ESI) & Journal Citation Report (JCR) now available

The Institute for Scientific Information (ISI) has announced that new data for Essential Science Indicators (ESI) and Journal Citation Reports® are now available. ESI was updated recently to cover a ten-year + six-month period, January 1, 1998- June 30, 2008.

All new students are welcome to meet the stars at the McGill Library. Principal Heather Munroe-Blum, Provost Anthony Masi, Trenholme Director of Libraries Janine Schmidt, and our Library Orientation poster models, Abhishek Agarwal and Stephanie Nahas, will be greeting new students in the foyer of the McLennan Library Building on Wednesday, September 10, 2008, from noon to 12:30 pm.

CDAS 2008/2009 Graduate Student Fellows Competititon

As a result of generous funding from the Canadian International Development Agency, CDAS will be able to accept 10 Graduate Student Fellows for the current academic year. Fellows will be provided a study carrel at CDAS, which will include access to wireless internet. They will also be awarded $1000 to use for research related expenses in accordance with Canada’s Tri-Council Rules & Regulations.

We've launched a new version of the IT Lab web site. In addition to providing access to the most commonly used links, the new site will serve as the authoritative source on all things IT within the School of Information Studies.

New year, new learning technology workshops for instructors!

Instructors, you can now register online for new learning technology workshops, offered by IT Services and Teaching and Learning Services (TLS). In these workshops you will learn to integrate tools such as myCourses (WebCT), Tablet PCs, recording technologies and other learning technologies in your courses.
